Third Anniversary Interview - Fushimi Omi

"I want us Autumn Troupe to keep motivating each other"

- Tell us about one performance that changed you, or caused you to make progress?

I've always thought I was the type of person to support and help others. I had a best friend, and he was the complete opposite, before you noticed he was in the center of attention, so naturally I often ended up in a supporting position. That's why, experiencing being in the center of attention, as the lead actor of our second performance "Stranger" was refreshing, and it required resolution too. I understood what a blessing it is, to be supported by someone. At the same time, I strongly thought about how I want to keep supporting the ones who stand in the center, every performance anew. For me, nothing can beat the happiness I feel when supporting someone, family or friends. …I'm sure it's a born nature for me.

- Is there anything that changed after you started acting?

I think for me it's being able to look at myself as an actor objectively. For example about my physique, when people first meet me I end up scaring them just by being big… but as an actor, if I'm playing a villain for instance I can use it to give more impact, and sometimes it has drawbacks too. Since currently I have the biggest build in the Company, I want to keep on thinking about how I can use this body as an actor.

- What are you doing on your days off?

I go over things that didn’t go well on previous performances too, but I also think it's important to empty your head, so I make handicrafts, or bake candies. Also, I want to take as much pictures as possible of the others off stage, so I often walk around with my camera. Of course, I take pictures normally too, but I realized it would be fun to look at them in retrospect, together with the memories of the performances. We often upload pictures to the Company's SNS, but the truth is there're many pictures that don't get to be uploaded. Going over the data in my camera together with everyone and remembering all the moments, and creating an album for each performance, is one of the things I look forward to the most when a performance ends.

- Finally, give a message for the friends who created performances with you.

I love everyone, but as a member of the Autumn Troupe, on top of making performances together, I also think about how I don't want to lose to them. I want to stand equal to everyone, and I want us in the Autumn Troupe to keep motivating each other. It’s been a while since such an electrifying feeling has appeared in my life… I want to tell the guys I'm grateful to them for awakening the passion that slept inside me.
